Ralf Kittmann took home an iF Design Award for his electric bicycle concept HMK 561. This ultralight zero-emission bike concept and design is clearly novel. Unlike most concept designs we see, Kittmann created a working prototype constructed from conductive carbon fiber, which is not only an excellent conductor of electricity, but also acts as capacitor that can store energy. Energy from the carbon fiber frame is capable of transmitting power to drive the lights and the motors in between the rims of the HMK 561. Moreover, the bike also feature a regenerative braking mechanism that turns the wheels using a counter-turning axle without any gears or chains. This energy is obtained by converting the mechanical energy into electrical energy in each mobile connection of mechanism and the resulting energy is then fed to the engine and lights. I want one :)
